Nothing, the company founded by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, has launched its third smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2a, in India and other markets. The Nothing Phone 2a is a mid-range device that offers flagship-level features and performance at an affordable price.
The Nothing Phone 2a, like its predecessors, features a Glyph Interface, which allows users to personalize the lighting effects on the phone’s back. The LED interface has a new triple light setup, 15 functionalities, and 10 new ringtones and notification noises. With this update, users can set different patterns as ringtones for certain contacts or apps.

Nothing Phone 2a Specifications
Nothing Phone 2a sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ (1,080×2,412 pixels) OLED display with an adaptive refresh rate between 30Hz to 120Hz, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and 1300nits peak brightness. The display also has HDR10+ support, 240Hz touch sampling rate and 2160Hz PWM, which reduces eye strain and improves battery life.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset, which is a custom 4nm octa-core processor with a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. The phone paired with upto 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The phone runs on Android 14 out of the box, and Nothing promises three major Android updates and four years of security patches for the device.
The Phone 2a boasts a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP Samsung GN9 primary sensor with an f/1.88 aperture and a 1/1.56-inch size with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation(EIS). The camera module has a 50MP JN1 ultra-wide-angle secondary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and 114-degree field of view. The rear cameras can record 4K videos at 60fps and support features like HDR, night mode, and portrait mode. The front camera is a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor with f/2.2 aperture that can capture selfies and video calls with clarity and detail.
Nothing Phone 2a packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The phone comes with a USB Type-C to Type-C cable in the box, but no adapter, as Nothing claims to reduce e-waste and encourage users to use their existing chargers. The phone also supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The Phone 2a offers a range of connectivity options, such as 5G (dual-SIM 5G), 4G LTE, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The phone also features an in-display fingerprint scanner, other sensor include accelerometer, electronic compass, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. It has an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance, stereo speakers, and a linear motor for haptic feedback. The phone has a sleek design with a thickness of 8.55mm and a weight of 190 grams.
Nothing Phone 2a Pricing and Offers
The Phone 2a comes in three variants: 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB. The prices are as follows:
- 8GB+128GB: ₹23,999 (€329)
- 8GB+256GB: ₹25,999
- 12GB+256GB: ₹27,999 ($329, €379)
The Phone 2a is available in two colors: black and white. The phone will go on sale from March 12, 2024, on Nothing’s official website and Flipkart and offline retailers.
Nothing Phone 2a is available for a special launch price of Rs. 19,999 on Flipkart for first day only on March 12. Furthermore, the online store is providing Rs. 2,000 cashback on orders made using HDFC bank cards. Buyers can also get an extra Rs. 2,000 discount on swaps. Additionally, there are no-cost EMI alternatives for up to nine months.
