The Motorola Edge 40 has been released in India with MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, 144Hz display, wireless charging supports and more. The handset is a significant boost over last year’s Motorola Edge 30. The phone has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a vegan-leather back panel, a HyperCrystal graphite cooling system, and Edge Lights, which provide variable colour lights to fill the edge of the screen when the screen is turned off for different notifications and applications.

Motorola Edge 40 specifications
The Motorola Edge 40 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8020 5G SoC, paired with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, coupled with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 256GB USF 3.1 internal storage. The handset runs Android 13 out of the box and company guarantees a two-year OS update and a three-year security update.
It sports a 6.55-inch full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) pOLED display panel with 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, and 1200nits peak brightness. The phone build with Sandblasted aluminium frame, and the curved 3D glass has an anti-fingerprint coating.
Talking about camera, the phone has good dual camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.4 aperture, optical image stabilisation (OIS) support. The setup include 13MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view. For selfie lover, there is a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats.
Motorola Edge 40 is backed by a 4,400mAh battery with 68W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging support. Connectivity option include WiFi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. For Authentication, the handset features an in-display fingerprint sensor all others necessary sensor also include. The phone comes with an IP68 rating and Motorola claims that this is the thinnest phone in the segment to offer IP68 rating.

Pricing and availability
Motorola Edge 40 is available in a single 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option in India and priced at Rs. 29,999. It will be available for pre-orders starting from May 23 through Flipkart and it will go on sale starting May 30 in Jet Black, Coronet Blue, and Reseda Green color option.
