Samsung Galaxy S23 series was launched at Galaxy Unpacked Event on Wednesday. The new Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones are latest flagship handsets from Samsung. All three phone are powered by a customised version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC,  up to 1TB storage, Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays, and 45W charging support, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ have an identical triple rear camera setup, while the high end Galaxy S23 Ultra model houses a superior 200-megapixel quad rear camera system.

Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus specifications

Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus features with 6.1-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with up to 120Hz refresh rate that can drop to as low as 48Hz, and 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate. On the other hand, the Galaxy S23 Plus has a 6.6-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate ranging from 48Hz to 120Hz and 240Hz touch sampling rate in game mode.

Both phones are powered by the overclocked version of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with Adreno GPU. The chipset is paired with 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage that is further expandable. Both models run on Android 13-based OneUI 5.1 custom skin out of the box.

Now comes to camera department, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ has a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture and 85-degree field of view. The camera setup include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide secondary sensor with 120-degree field-of-view with an f/2.2 aperture. The setup also has a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture featuring 3x optical zoom. For selfie lover, it has a 12-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture lens and an 80-degree field-of-view.

Samsung has provided an upgraded camera app on the Galaxy S23 models that supports camera advancements including 8K video recording at 30 frames per second (fps), 360-degree audio recording feature and more.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 packs a 3,900mAh battery with 25W fast charging while bigger Galaxy S23 Plus has a large 4,700mAh battery with 45W fast charging. It supports Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 which offers 15W charging speeds and Wireless PowerShare support for reverse wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The phones also come with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra feature with a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with dynamic refresh rate of 1–120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz in Game Mode, Vision booster. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is powered by the custom (overclocked) version of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with Adreno GPU and up to 12GB of RAM.

Talking about main highlight of the smartphone, the Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with quad camera setup at back with a Samsung 200-megapixel primary wide camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an 85-degree field of view. The setup also includes a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 120 degrees field of view, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and 3x optical zoom, and another 10-megapixel telephoto shooter with 10x optical zoom support. For selfies lover, it has a 12-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.2 lens and an 80-degree field of view.

It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging and 15W Fast Wireless Charging 2.0. Company claimed to charge the battery upto 65 percent in 20 minutes.

Pre-booking for the Galaxy S23 series starts on February 2nd, i.e today across all major online and offline stores. Customers pre-booking the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra can get a Galaxy Watch4 LTE Classic and Galaxy Buds 2 at a special price of Rs 4,999. If you pre-book the Galaxy S23+, you will get Galaxy Watch 4 BT at Rs 4,999. There is also a storage upgrade offer worth Rs 5,000 for those pre-booking the Galaxy S23.

Additionally, all consumers can avail cashback worth Rs 8,000 on online channels. Customers pre-booking Galaxy S23 series during “Samsung Live” event on February 2 on the Samsung website will get an additional exclusive gift of a Wireless Charger & Travel Adapter.
